Bethnal Green Ventures runs the Tech for Good Programme, which provides early-stage founders with investment, support and expertise to help them launch and grow a tech for good venture.

It supports teams with new ideas to help build solutions to social and environmental issues through an intensive programme of support, including:

  • A tailored three-month programme of workshops, talks and mentoring.
  • Life-long support and the opportunity for follow-on funding.
  • Peer-to-peer support.
  • Introductions and one-to-one meetings with investors and industry experts.
  • Up to £30,000 in cash for 7% equity in their venture.

Bethnal Green Ventures is based in Tower Hamlets. It is looking for scalable businesses that use technology in an innovative way to approach environmental and social problems. It supports ventures with the potential to have a direct impact on people and the planet, and that can reduce inequality.

To be eligible, applicants must be an early-stage business that has been trading for less than 24 months.

Y Combinator is accepting applications from startups for the Summer 2022 funding cycle. It will take place from June–August 2022.

IBM Hyper Protect Accelerator

Every 39 seconds, a hacker attempts to steal personal information from people and businesses around the world. As financial and health services are increasingly offered online, it is more important than ever for businesses to keep their data secure, especially when they are collecting, storing, or transmitting personally identifiable information like medical and financial records. 

 

IBM, in partnership with Village Capital, is selecting its fifth cohort for its IBM Hyper Protect Accelerator Program, an investment-readiness program for startups that are leveraging highly sensitive data to improve access to digital, financial and healthcare services. The program is designed to build and scale the next generation of companies whose services ultimately improve access to financial and healthtech services around the world. 

 

45 selected companies will receive $120,000 in IBM cloud credits, 2 years of technical support from IBM, and investment readiness training through Village Capital’s accelerator model.

Banco Santander and Oxentia Foundation are launching the Santander X Global Challenge | Blockchain and Beyond to seek startups and scaleups with innovative and scalable solutions using blockchain technology. The aim of both institutions is supporting innovation to improve productivity and employment, as well as to solve problems relevant to society.

This new global challenge is aimed at startups and scaleups from 11 countries (Germany, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, the US, Spain, Mexico, Portugal, Poland, the UK and Uruguay), with an innovative and technology-based product. Applications can be submitted until 9 June.

Interseed Bootcamp: Re-shaping the healthcare industry through digital transformation & innovation

Who should apply?

We’re looking for promising entrepreneurs, innovators, start-ups or SMEs that

  • Are incorporated as a business in a Horizon Europe country
  • Are active in digital health
  • Are TRL 5+
  • Have a product or service that is at least minimum viable product (MVP)
  • Have a commercial relevance or alignment to the Life Sciences Industry

The cost of participating on the programme is of €450 per company.
